It is not uncommon for me to use the term “disgustingly beautiful” when referring to some of my vintage finds. I love items that may have exaggerated elements that some may not find attractive. It’s a fun challenge to make them beautiful. And with that, I give you the ’80s/’90s track suit jacket. A piece that doesn’t need an introduction as they generally speak for themselves. They are loud, both in shape and in print.
I love this jacket’s bold geometric color block design and I’m always a sucker for shoulder pads. A lot of ’80s designs gave a nod to the ’40s strong shoulder silhouettes and I decided to play with that theme by adding a hunter green vintage cloche. To keep up with the glamour I decided I needed even more bling and chose a pair of vintage rhinestone clipon ear climbers. #soextra
Since these statement pieces are so bold they allow a lot of options when it comes to the basics. I bought these super soft black drop crotch (This term always cracks me up!) joggers from Kristi’s boutique years ago and still love wearing them. They’re a great versatile piece that looks chic while still being comfortable. I’ve also worn this look with black high waisted shorts, a dark green mini dress and various jeans. The choice is yours!
As usual I’ve link several other amazing monstrosities for you to cherish below. Enjoy and tell me what you think!
